Kiss me once
and kiss me twice and kiss me once again say the lyrics from a popular 40s
song. According to me that’s repetition x 3.
If you want to get your message across to your customers then this is what
you have to do, not the kissing but the repetition.
Customers
don’t read and respond first and more quickly to the visual rather than the
written word. But, if you do want them to take notice you need to repeat the
message.
So, for
example, let’s say you’re promoting a new product range. The first way to promote this is with an eye
catching and simple product display in your shop window but don’t just stop
there. Repeat it again in store and in
more than one place if you have the space. Photograph your finished display and
share the image via your social media platforms and upload it on your website,
preferably the home page. Create some
point of sale with the same image to repeat at the cash desk, produce some printed material to hand out to
your customers and use your email database to send out via email. If you advertise on a regular basis in the
press get the same image into your advertising.
The possibilities are endless but with so many images bombarding our
senses twenty four hours a day to attract new customer’s you need to keep it
simple and keep repeating the message. It’s as simple as that!
So, repeat,
repeat, repeat… and, if you’re wondering what the song is I’ve attached a
popular version from the 40s below – obviously before my time!
