I’m
getting a bit fed up with saying retail is challenging, we know it is, every
job is challenging if you let it be that way. I admit, it can at times feel like
spinning plates, lots of them. Take your eye off one and before you know it you’ll
be running over to give it another spin to keep it in motion, and then another and, another, and so on...
Owning
and running a retail business piece is a bit like owning a fine timepiece.
Every component is important, it has a job to do but, the more skill and craftsmanship
that goes into the creation of each component will produce something beautifully
balanced, perfectly styled and will never let you down.
Easier
said than done you may think. Well, no
one said it would be easy but then why do it? We do it, because it is the most fascinating,
rewarding, unpredictable, socially connected, complex and creative business to be
in. Nothing is ever certain, everyday is different but the rewards can be exhilarating and bring many new friendships.
